The Transforming Power of the Gospel

The Thessalonian church was known for being a church that was transformed by the gospel! The same God that moved in them can move in us! May we be forever marked by who Jesus is and what He has done.

Key Takeaways:

#1: The gospel is transformative.

The Thessalonian church didn’t just believe the gospel and move on

with their lives like nothing happened. They were transformed into

people who loved God with their entire being and were noted as

people who were elect.

#2: Deep discipleship matters.

Paul notes how the Thessalonian church imitated him and those

with him. This is what discipleship should look like. It’s life on life

where we seek to become more and more like Jesus looking to

others to help us get there.

#3: Our lives should preach the gospel.

News of the Thessalonian church spread throughout their region

and beyond. When God does something in us, it’s also for the sake

of those around us. Our lives should preach the gospel in word and

deed.

Bible Reading Plan

Reflection Questions:

What has faith in the gospel done in me? How have I experienced

transformation through Jesus?

What does it look like to be an imitator of Jesus? How am I living in

relation to that?

Can those around me see what God has done in me by how I live?
