A Reaching Church
This week, we're kicking off a new series diving into the vision of our church! Join us today as we explore what it means to be a church that reaches out to our community.
We take a look at Acts 1:3-11 and 2 Corinthians 5:9-21 to discover how Jesus empowers us to share the Gospel and how our faith compels us to action.
Our Vision:
As a church, we exist to see our community and world develop a transformational relationship with Jesus Christ.
Together, we’ve committed to seeing this vision become a reality by embracing God’s call to become a reaching church, an equipping church, and a sending church.
Key Takeaways:
#1: Jesus has called and empowered us to reach others.
The Great Commission is the call of every believer and Jesus has empowered us with the Holy Spirit to be His witness in the world.
#2: True belief in the gospel propels us toward action.
When we truly believe that despite our sin God has saved us, we will respond in worshipful obedience, giving our lives to the Savior who gave His life for us.
#3: The church is a rescue ship, not a cruise ship.
We are not here to be served, but rather to serve. Every Christian has a role to play in seeing the lost saved.
Bible Reading Plan:
Day 1: Acts 1:1-11
Day 2: 2 Corinthians 5
Day 3: 2 Timothy 4:1-8
Day 4: 1 Peter 2:1-12
Day 5: Acts 17:16-34
Reflection Questions:
Do I believe that the Holy Spirit is able to help me share the gospel?
How has the grace that I’ve experienced motivated me to share the gospel? Do I really believe what I say I believe?
Where can I serve within the church to help others develop a transformational relationship with Jesus?
Who is one person I can pray for and reach out to this week?
