Next Steps: Going as Individuals and the Church

We need to set our hearts to follow Jesus and participate in His great commission no matter what is happening around us or to us. God can work in spite of what’s happening. The Bible is full of stories of that being true. We must keep the faith and contend for those around us. That’s our mission given to us by God!

Key Takeaways:

#1: Adversity should fuel missional living.

In the face of persecution, early Christians scattered but continued

sharing the gospel boldly. Their adversity didn't deter them; it drove

them to embrace missional living.

#2: We must remain true to the Lord.

We must stay devoted to the Lord with our whole hearts. Staying

true means being gospel-centered, growth-oriented, and

mission-focused.

#3: Churches exist to send

The church's DNA is to include being both goers and senders,

partnering with God in advancing His kingdom.

5 Day Bible Reading Plan:

Day 1: Acts 11:19-26

Day 2: Acts 13:1-5

Day 3: Matthew 28:18-20

Day 4: Matthew 9:37-10:8

Day 5: Acts 1:1-11

Personal Reflection Questions:

#1: How can the adversity of the early church inspire you toward

missional living?

#2: Are you remaining true to the Lord in your life? Do you feel that

you are gospel-centered, growth-oriented, and missionally-focused?

#3: In what ways do you feel God calling you to be on mission? Are

you called to church plant or serve in foreign missions?

Challenge: Pray for God to raise up workers. Pray God would use you

to reach your neighbors. Pray for those who have said yes to God’s

call.
