Faith and Politics: Love in the age of outrage

In the last week of our politics series we dive into how love is not an optional add-on to the Christian life. All that we do must be done in love or it is meaningless.

Key Takeaways:

#1: We have a love problem.

Overwhelmingly, Christians are described as hypocritical by non-

Christians and only a little over half of Christians would use loving as

a key descriptor.

#2: Our identity must be rooted in Christ.

We are dreadful sinners who have been reconciled to God through

His love for us. We must never forget what God has done for us and

at what cost.

#3: We must put on love.

Having experienced the love of God through Christ, we’re to be full

of love. We are to exemplify to the world a more excellent way.

Bible Reading Plan

Day 1: 1 Corinthians 13:1-8

Day 2: Galatians 5:13-26

Day 3: Romans 5:1-11

Day 4: 1 John 4:7-21

Day 5: Ephesians 5:1-2

Reflection Questions:

1. How consistently do I embody the characteristics of love

shown in 1 Corinthians 13?

2. How can I seek to keep God’s great love for me in the

forefront of my mind?

3. How can I better demonstrate God’s love to those around

me, even when I may disagree with the person?
